Event Details

Speed Networking has proven to be a great way to not only meet a number of quality people, but to know which ones you want to follow up on! Add the POKEN (www.poken.com) and you have the recipe for having all the information that you need on a contact without having to enter it all in - Poken does that for you plus gives you more info than the normal business card.

The B2B Sphere of the Bull City Business Leaders BNI is hosting this event to share our networks with our business community and to expand who we know. Meet with the people that have committed to $2million in referral business to each other and are on track so far this year. You may be the person we have business to refer to.

Ready to POKEN - bring yours with you and prepare to wear it out. Don't have one? No worries, the latest will be available for purchase for immediate use (range is $20-$40). Business cards are still welcomed and are always a must for networking - so bring plenty.

Your admission will provide you an array of appetizers from the inventive and mouth watering menu of Restaurant Eden (http://www.restaurantedendurham.com) and a free drink from a selection of beer, red wine, white wine and soft drinks. The inspiring venue is in the Wachovia business building behind Empower Fitness.

Some additional Info:

Speed Networking:
A process where you sit in groups of 4-5 at a table and you have 5-7 minutes to introduce yourself and give your elevator pitch (similar to what we do at BNI each week). At the end of the 5-7 minutes you switch tables and repeat. I went to one of these a couple of weeks ago and came back with a pocket full of great connections and a better understanding of who I needed to follow up with. Our own Terry Gore is a master of hosting these and will give a short presentation on the process before we start. The best way this will work for us is if there is a lot of new people in the room...
Who to invite:
The B2B sphere of the Durham Bull City Business Leaders BNI is putting this on and will be inviting people we want to see in the room. As for the rest of the group, invite anyone as a guest that you may have been trying to get to a meeting, guests that have been at our meeting, or anyone that the group may benefit from knowing. Just invite! The room can hold 100 people, so don't be shy. You don't even have to know what a POKEN is...
What is a POKEN? (http://www.poken.com)
It is a small device - much like the portable USB drives. The device has a little hand on it with a green button. When you touch it to another POKEN device, your contact information is exchanged. You then plug it into the computer and go to POKEN.com and your free account will download your new contacts onto your computer for use and you can update your profile with pertinent information that you want to share including any social media contacts as well - something you may not have on your business card. It is a fast and easy way to swap info and not have to enter it into your contact management system. The devices will be for sale for $20 at the event. There is one for $40 that also has more memory on it so you can use it like the normal USB drives as well.Pokensusing the poken
